Congo Cuckatoo Impatiens niamniamensis
This is the Congo Cuckatoo, featuring glowing, multi-colored red-yellow-and-lime blooms shaped
like a hood with a curved spur, just beneath contrasting, shiny foliage in the deepest shade of green.
Easy to grow, I. niamniamensis thrives in ordinary tropical plant soil. Pinch out the
growing tips to produce branching. The plant can reach up to shrubby 1 m in height, and like most impatiens,
dislikes full sun and loves water. It responds well to fertilizer. When grown indoors in Canada,
reduce watering and place in a sunny window during winter.
